Anonymous, the dreaded decentralized international activist/hacktivist collective/movement that is widely known for its various cyber attacks against several governments, government institutions and government agencies, have joined the #endSARS Nigerian movement. This certainly has caused a change in the narratives.
In a twitter message, Anonymous stated that the Nigerian government has refused to come out with the names of the policemen who shot and killed innocent protesters. They insisted that their involvement isn’t a threat but a peaceful warning to the government before taking action.
Already, Anonymous has hacked the Nigerian Police server and released all the private information in the force and have given the government 72hrs to reply or face the consequences.
A Twitter user, @olamidewaslas2 compared statements of SARS and Anonymous in a tweet: “We will kill you and nothing will happen” but Anonymous answered “We will hack you and nothing will happen”. The government are feeling the Heat so back 😂😂😂. My Generation.
A recent update has it that the websites of the Central Bank of Nigerian (CBN) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been hacked. Friday 16th, Anonymous also took over the Twitter handle of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
These days have truly proved to be historical for Nigeria. Watch Anonymous warn the Nigerian government.
