Michigan’s highly-anticipated certification was the latest in a series of results that went Joe Biden’s way. Despite Trump’s mindset that he was robbed, he finally authorized his staff to begin “initial protocols” for the transition process.

Before the drama, guess who decided to become a punching bag for Trump: Emily Murphy. She is a Trump loyalist heading the General Services Administration for the US. Part of her job description is to “ascertain” who has won the U.S. presidential election and then to release the congressionally mandated funds that allow the winner to begin his transition.

Murphy was born in 1973 and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Her father, James J. Murphy Jr. was chairman of Murphy Company Mechanical Contractors and Engineers, and her mother, Mimi Murphy, was an attorney.

After President Trump took office in January 2017, Murphy was appointed to the position of senior advisor to acting General Services Administration administrator Timothy Horne. On September 2, 2017, Trump nominated Murphy to the post of GSA administrator. The Senate confirmed Murphy’s appointment by unanimous consent on December 5, 2017.

The answer to the question of whether she was scared of Trump is a darn good old YES!  Donald Trump will hire and fire at the snap of his fingers if you oppose him. He is a dictator. You are either loyal or you are out. Of course, everybody was scared of the big, bad, wolf of the White House.

President Trump stated after Michigan failed to yield to him, “Nevertheless, in the best interest of our Country, I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done about initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same.” Despite her bosses statement to concede, she simply could not shake off that morbid fear for Trump.  She went ahead to delay Biden’s transition.

Emily stated in a letter that, “I came to my decision independently, based on the law and available facts…and of recent developments involving legal challenges and certifications of election results,” likely referring to the certification of votes by election officials in several states and a string of court decisions that have rejected Mr. Trump’s challenges. But you could just smell that air of caution trailing her like some perfume with a foul stench.

Murphy added, “I was never directly or indirectly pressured by any Executive Branch official — including those who work at the White House or GSA — about the substance or timing of my decision. To be clear, I did not receive any direction to delay my determination.”

Murphy’s delay led to a barrage of torrential whiplash that made her look like a punching bag. She claimed that she and her family were issued life threats, even her dog was not spared.

For her loyalty, Mr. Trump showered her with encomiums:: “I want to thank Emily Murphy at GSA for her steadfast dedication and loyalty to our Country.

“She has been harassed, threatened, and abused – and I do not want to see this happen to her, her family, or employees of GSA.”

President Trump has insisted on continuing with challenging the election result.
